- Eat on a reserved OA table in the Main dining room from the standard daily menu. Cost for lunch is less than £5 per head depending on choice. Please let the Social Sec – social@hmscoa.org – know if you would like to attend. Please inform by the Monday of the relevant week with vehicle and attendee details. A function pass will be issued on the gate if needed. Please bring photo ID.

Drinks
Free beer and wine included in ticket price, spirits and bubbles can be purchased via card. Bubbles can be purchased for the table with food. Wine bottles served with dinner at the table. Wine served by the glass at the bar.
Rig
RN/Military: 2B Dress – Evening Mess Undress (black waistcoat or cummerbund) or other services equivalent.
Civilian: Black Tie, ball gowns or suitable alternative.
Guests
Guests are encouraged to attend, please ensure accurate information on the form below to ensure smooth entry on to the site. For guests staying with the mess for the night, please ensure that an overnight request form is completed and approved in good time prior to the event. Please ensure that any and all guests are familiar with the mess rules for events.
Theme
The theme for this years Summer Ball is the Great Gatsby, meaning fizz, feathers, gold, and sparkles. Feel free to embrace the roaring twenties in your outfit!
Cost
Cost is £80 per ticket for Mess member, £80 for first guest, £85 per ticket for subsequent guests, £85 for non-mess members. Price includes canapé starter, seated main course meal and desert, live band and disco, entertainers, artists, and more. Charges will be spread across July and August Mess bills.

Cancellation policy: cancellations within 7 days of a function are liable to pay the cost of food; cancellations within 72 hours are liable for the whole cost IAW the Mess Rules.
Tables come in sizes of 8/12/16 – If booking in more than one group use the same seating preference name to ensure you are sat on the same table.
Ladies Trafalgar Night
CHANGE OF DATE
The Association Ladies Trafalgar Night will NOW be held on Friday 23th October 2026.
The bar will be open from 18:30 with Dinner at 19:30.
Entertainment will be from the HMS COLLINGWOOD volunteer Band and the Hayling Island Shanty Crew.
Please note: The book will be open in early August and, due to travel commitments by the Social Sec, will need to close on Friday 2nd October, after this date places cannot be guaranteed as the seating plan needs to be completed by 7th October.
